KU got 7,000 masks from Chinese universities
Karachi University on Monday received as many as 7,000 face masks, including more than 50 N95 masks, from Sichuan Normal University (SNU), China.
The mask was handed over by the Chinese University Confucius Institute Chinese Director Professor Zhang Xiaoping to the KU Clinic. He said Pakistan and China had been good friends for years and we had great support from Pakistan after the coronavirus outbreak in China.
The vice chancellor acted for KU, Professor Dr. Khalid Mehmood Iraq, and CIUK Professor Dr. Muhammad Nasiruddin Khan and others recorded video messages and prayed for the initial recovery of people affected by the virus.
Iraq said the KU administration thanked SNU for their gesture of good intentions, adding that Pak-China friendship was getting stronger and deeper with the passage of time, especially when this difficult time brought them closer.
KU Registrar Professor Dr. Saleem Shahzad said that SNU had sent gifts to help KU staff to assist in fighting the virus. The Director of CIUK and KU Dr. Syed Abid also thanked SNU for providing face masks.
