KARACHI: Anti Vehicle Lifting Cell (AVLC) Sindh police on Wednesday arrested two car lifts involved in buying and selling stolen vehicle batteries from the city, ARY News reported.
According to AVLC officials, a suspect named Rizwan is suspected of being involved in the theft of a vehicle from the city just for the battery.
Explaining the mode of operation, the AVLC police said the defendant got out of the vehicle after removing the battery and selling it to a used goods seller named Saif for only Rs1,200 to 1,500.
Six vehicles and eight batteries were recovered from the captured lifting prisoners. The police, based on information given by Rizwan, have also arrested a used goods dealer, Saif.
AVLC officials said that Rizwan had already been arrested five times before and thrown in prison.
Further investigations into this matter are being carried out.
On September 3, the Sindh Police Anti Vehicle Lifting Cell (AVLC) arrested a policeman who was involved in dozens of motorbike theft cases.
According to police, the arrested policeman was on duty in Thatta district, Sindh.
The police said the defendant was involved in the sale and purchase of stolen motorbikes and four-wheeled vehicles.
