LAHORE: Prime Minister Imran Khan on Wednesday said that Bundal Island is an important project for Karachi due to the increasing problems faced by the city, multiplying with the passage of time, ARY NEWS reported.

“The expansion in the city has led to increased pollution,” he said while speaking to media in Lahore adding that the Bundal Island project aims to save the city.

Further talking about the importance of the Ravi River Project for Lahore, he said that the green cover in the provincial capital of Punjab had decreased by up to 70 percent, which had led to increased pollution in addition to the problem of water scarcity in the city.

“The Ravi River project will save Lahore while the Bundal Island will save Karachi,” said Imran Khan adding that the former will solve the problem of water scarcity while the second will save agricultural land.

We will build a processing plant that will clean the water before it is discharged into the river, he said adding that six million trees would also be planted in the Lahore project.

The prime minister said that a comprehensive strategy was also designed for the Bundal Island project and that it would help avoid dumping garbage in the sea.

“This will help fishermen, who can then catch fish from near the shore rather than going deep inside because of the current marine pollution,” he said.

Imran Khan said that the two projects will also bring foreign investment in dollars into the country, helping the country to solve its foreign exchange problems. level.
