KARACHI: Saim Shazli scratched the par 72 round to lead two strokes in the two-day trial organized by the Sindh Golf Association (SGA) to select the Sindh team ahead of the 60th Pakistan National Amateur Golf Championship.
The smash hit Saim was in full flow on the first day of testing here at Karachi Golf Club as he started with back-to-back birdies on the front nine finishing it on 35.His score of nine backs was 37.
Trials were conducted by SGA to select two teams of four (Sindh A and Sindh B) to represent the province in the Inter Association Amateur Golf Championship which will take place alongside the National Championship to be played at Karachi Golf Club from December 31 to January 3. The two-day Inter-Association Trophy will be played on the first two days of the National Championship.
Meanwhile on the first day of testing, the brothers Omar and Arsalan Shikoh were second and third. Omar got 74 cards while Arsalan scored 76. Also in third place together is young player Yashal Shah (76). In fourth place is Omar Khalid who is 16 years old (77). Followed by Mansoor Teli (78), Abdullah Adil (78), Ansar Mahmood (79), MA Mannan (80) and Junaid Irfan (80).
Meanwhile, in the trials of the Inter Association of Seniors Championship trials, Salim Adil had a stunning 72 shot to take a five-shot lead. In second place is former Pakistan international Khurram Khan (77). He was followed by Khalid Jamil Siddiqui (78), Shahid Azim Khan (78) and Asad IA Khan (80). The exams will be finished today.
