KARACHI: The Accountability Court in Karachi on Wednesday directed the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) to comment on requests to release CNIC from The chairman of the Sindh Assembly, Agha Siraj Durrani and other people accused of assets outside the case, ARY News reported.
PPP leader Agha Siraj Durrani along with his family members appeared before the court as they continued the trial.
The speaker’s lawyer stated in court that the CNIC of the five defendants were still blocked despite the fact that they had been given bail. He asked the court to issue directives for the relevant authorities to unblock their CNIC.
The court directed the corruption watchdog to send comments regarding this matter on 30 May.
Agha Siraj Durrani was arrested by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) last year on February 20 on charges of accumulating assets outside known sources of income. In December, the Sindh High Court (SHC) ordered his release on guarantee.
The court ordered him to give a guarantee of Rs 1 million and his passport to the court. It also commands its name to be added to the Exit Control List.
His wife, four daughters and two sons were also mentioned in this case.
