10 criminals detained; mobile phones and narcotics recovered
Islamabad: Islamabad police on Monday arrested 10 criminals from various areas of the city and found cellphones, narcotics and weapons taken from their possessions, a police spokesman said.
According to the details, DIG (Operation) Waqar-Ud-Din Syed has directed all zone officers to accelerate their efforts to curb crime in the city. SP (Saddar) Muhammad Omer Khan is a special team consisting of Saddar Zone officers who accelerate their efforts and one of the police teams under the supervision of SDPO (Saddar) Khalid Mehmood Awan along with SHO Tarnol Inspector Arshad Ali, Sub-Inspector Tipu Sultan and others caught drug trafficker Moman Khan and recovered 1,250 kilograms of heroin from him. Meanwhile the Golra police team arrested two defendants Daman Ali and Ghulam Hussain and found one of his 30 used pistols.
Meanwhile Ramana police arrested two defendants Zahoor-Ur-Rehman and Usman and took back cellphones taken from their possessions. The two Karachi companies accused Arshad and William and found the cellphones taken and two 30 handguns brought along with ammunition from their holdings. Sabzi Mandi police arrested the defendant Abdul Basit and found 159 grams of marijuana from him.
Koral police arrested the defendant Akash and found a 30-hole pistol from him. The Industrial Zone police arrested the suspect Muhammad Aamir in violation of article 144. Cases have been registered against these arrested people and further investigations are underway from them.
DIG (Operation) Waqar Ud din Syed has directed all Post Office Officers to carry out effective crackdowns on involvement in drug sales activities. He called for new efforts to curb such practices and rid society of such threats.
He said that the performance in this matter would be reviewed on an ongoing basis. He also directs decisive action against those involved in selling or flying kites, aerial shooting and pigeon racing. DIG also firmly asks all police officials to focus on resolving community complaints and taking every step possible to provide maximum assistance to residents.
