PESHAWAR: Coronavirus has affected the whole world and routine life has also been disrupted after more than two weeks partially locked because human life in general has become difficult.

Daily wage workers are the people most affected by the closure because they cannot find work and lose their source of income. Women who work at home also face difficulties because they find it difficult to find work. Daily bets and home-based workers usually get a lot of work during holidays and wedding seasons, but nowadays people don’t buy clothes or sew them.

Women who do sewing and embroidery work from home say they have not seen a difficult time in their lives. They said that they had not received any orders from their customers and that their brothers had not found work. They say the virus can kill them or not, but they can be killed by hunger and increasing the burden of loans.

Continuous locking also raises social problems besides increasing economic misery. Reports of household tensions are received every day and people quarreling in their homes because of the increasing problem of domestic violence has also witnessed an increase. Parents also remain tense because their children cannot go to school or get out of the house and they are locked up in their home. Male family members who run out of money venting their anger on female members and children.

People do not have entertainment at home especially in rural areas, where there is not even a cable TV facility. Unfortunately, there are still parts of society that consider coronavirus to be a conspiracy. This is mainly due to lack of awareness and no exposure to authentic information.

The government has taken a number of steps after the coronavirus emergency, but no policy has been seen that has been introduced for workers. Prime Minister Imran Khan has announced packages for the poor and low-income groups, but the procedure to get help has made it difficult for them. Poor people do not know how to register to get help through online procedures. They have asked the government to make registration procedures easier for them.
