ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan has expressed his desire to send a “good message” to all of the occupied Kashmir region through the clear electoral strategy of the ruling PTI in neighboring Azad Jammu and Kashmir.

PM Imran Khan’s remarks came during a meeting with PTI chief organizer Saifullah Niazi and former prime minister Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Attorney Sultan Mahmood Chaudhry, in Islamabad, where the two had summoned him on Tuesday, according to a statement from the ruling party.

Lawyers for Chaudhry – who is also president of the Azad Jammu and Kashmir branch of PTI – and Niazi briefed the prime minister about the party’s election campaign and strategy in the Himalayan region, with lawyers thanking him for issuing the flagship national health card of the ruling party’s hometown.

Prime Minister Imran Khan advised the two to “develop a clear strategy for the election campaign”.

“I want a good message to be given in occupied Kashmir,” he said.

The PTI statement added that the prime minister will also address a rally in Kotli, near the Line of Control (LoC), on February 5, in honor of Kashmir Solidarity Day.

The PTI statement added that Chaudhry and Niazi had “asked PM Imran Khan in Islamabad today” for a detailed meeting in which the prime minister “announced to visit Kotli LoC on February 5 and will address the meeting”.

The groundbreaking ceremony for the housing program for Azad Jammu and Kashmir will be held soon, he added, and the prime minister will visit the Kotli section of the LoC as well.
