Red Force opens against the Jamaica Scorpions | Instant News

The Trinidad and Tobago Red Force will open the 2021 CG Insurance Super50 Cup campaign against the Jamaica Scorpions on February 11.

Kieron Pollard’s team are chasing their first fifty-plus regional title since 2016, and a record-lengthening 13th title.

The Red Force will play five matches in 10 days at two different venues, with three games day / night.

T&T opens against the Jamaica Scorpions in Coolidge (11 February), before taking on the Windward Islands Volcano (13 February) at Sir Vivian Richards Stadium.

They then returned to Coolidge for a day match against the Barbados Pride (15 February), before playing two day / night matches against the Leeward Islands Hurricanes (17 February) and the Guyana Jaguars (20 February).

The semifinals will be held on February 24 and 25, with the final on February 27.

Regional cricket was suspended in March 2020 due to the outbreak of the coronavirus and the tournament is the first since the 2019 edition in Trinidad and Tobago, won by West Indies players.

Six teams will face off in 19 games in 20 days, with the opening match on 7 February when Hurricane Leeward Islands hosts Windward Islands Volcano.

2019-20 Champions, West Indies Evolving Players, were unable to defend their 2019 trophy due to COVID-19 constraints.

Each team will play each other in a round-robin with the top four teams qualifying for the semifinals and a chance to reach the grand finals.

Matches will be played at two of Antigua’s international cricket venues – Coolidge Cricket Ground (CCG) and Sir Vivian Richards Stadium (SVRS).
