The Port of Karachi handles 48,247 tons of cargo consisting of 34,990 tons of imported cargoes and 13,257 tons of export cargoes including 2,327 empty containers and empty cargoes during the last 24 hours and ends at 0700 hours on Tuesday.

Total imported cargo of 34,990 tons consisted of 31,176 tons of containerized cargo; 2,173 tons of canola and 1,641 tons of oil / liquid cargo.

The total export cargo of 13,257 tons consisted of 6,207 tons of containerized cargo and 7,050 tons of oil / liquid cargo.

A total of 2,327 containers consisting of 2,004 imported containers and 323 export containers were handled during the last 24 hours on Tuesday.

The breakup of imported containers showed 678 of 20s and 621 40s loaded while there were no 20s and 42s of 40 empty containers, while those from exported containers showed 163 of 20s and 72 of 40s while 16s and nil from 40 empty containers are handled during business hours.

There are five ships namely Robert Rickmers, Cosco Aden, Diyala, MT Shalamar and DS Cougar who carry containers, oil tankers and chemicals each sailed to sea during the reported period.

There are eight ships viz. Botany Bay, Wan Hai-611, Clemens Schulte, Robert Rickmers, Nordic Pia, Oriental Cosmos, Ven. Jupiter and Great Cosmos carrying containers, oil tankers and fertilizers currently at the pier.

There is one ship, the Oriental Cosmos, carrying oil tankers expected to sail on Tuesday, while another ship, Botany Bay, carrying containers is expected to sail on Wednesday.

There are two ships viz. OOCL California and SC Ningbo each carrying containers and oil tankers will arrive on Tuesday while four more ships. CMA CGM Ivanhoe, Iliana, Africa Star and Han Xin who each carry containers and general cargo will arrive on Wednesday.


The cargo volume of 130,718 tons consisting of 92,148 tons of imported cargo and 38,570 tons of export cargo including 3,744 empty and empty containers (TEU) was handled at Port Qasim for the past 24 hours on Tuesday.

Total imported cargo was 92,148 tons including 25,619 tons of coal; 6,500 tons of palm oil; 15,000 tons of canola; 6,720 tons of LPG; 5,743 tons of general cargo and 32,566 tons of containerized cargo.

Total export cargo was 38,570 tons including 38,570 tons of containerized cargo.

A total of 3,744 containers consisting of 1,714 imported containers and 2,030 export containers were handled during the past 24 hours on Tuesday.

There is one ship, GSL Eleni, which brought containers that sailed to sea on Tuesday morning, while three more ships namely MSC Ggiulia, SSI Victory and Kazak who carried containers, coal and chemicals were expected to sail the same day in the afternoon.

A total of twelve ships were occupied by the jetty to load / unload cargo, general cargo, coal, canola, LPG, palm kernel and palm oil respectively in Port Qasim during the past 24 hours.

Twelve ships viz. Courage of MOL, Robert Rickmers, MSC Valencia, Calypso-N, Universal Bremen, Star Topaz, BW Kobe, Lyrical Poet, Serena-R, Adnes, Sovereign and Horizon, who each carry containers, coal, soybeans, cement, chemistry, gasoline and palm oil are in ports outside of Port Qasim for the past 24 hours.

There are four ships viz. MSC Valencia, Maersk Hartford, Robert Rickmers and Adnes each brought containers and chemicals, each expected to dock at Qasim International Container Terminal and Engro Vopak Terminal on Tuesday.

There is one ship, Al Oriq, which carries LNG to arrive on Tuesday while two more ships, MOL Globe and the carrier Maersk Hartford, will arrive on Wednesday.
