Abdul Razzaq revealed why India will continue to dominate Pakistan at the World Cup | Instant News

Former Pakistan versatile player Abdul Razzaq has revealed why India will continue to dominate their arch-rivals Pakistan in World Cup matches. The Men In Blue holds an unnecessary 7-0 advantage at the World Cup head-to-head meeting on Men In Green rights from 1992 to the previous edition in 2019.

Razzaq itself has been part of three World Cup defeats in 1999, 2003, and high-octane semifinal clashes in 2011. Despite these losses, Pakistan have suffered defeats in 1992, 1996 and 2015 respectively.

‘Player not confident’: Abdul Razzaq

“India will continue to maintain that record,” Abdul Razzaq said.

“It is very rare that India and Pakistan play each other in knock-out matches from ICC events. They mostly play on the league stage and India is a favorite. Our players cannot absorb the pressure that comes with this game,” Razzaq added.

“We won a lot against India in Sharjah and also defeated them in Canada twice. I remember the 1999 World Cup, people and media pressed the players before the match and we withered. Stay that way, unfortunately. Pressure builds players even though it’s like other matches. The players are not confident in beating India in the World Cup, “he said.

‘Nowhere near Kapil Dev’: Razzaq

Razzaq also criticized the all-round Indian ace Hardik Pandya and said that the 26-year-old player did not seem to be working hard enough. He avoided the Pandya’s comparison with the legendary Kapil Dev and stated that he was not near the 1983 World Cup-winning captain. “Kapil paaji and Imran bhai are in a different league,” Razzaq said.

When speaking with PTI, Razzaq said, “Pandya is a good player but he can be a much better versatile player. It’s all about hard work. When you don’t give enough time for the game, it will stay away from you.”

“He has to prepare mentally and physically better. As you have seen, he has been injured a lot lately (underwent back surgery last year). When you get a lot of money, you tend to be relaxed. For every player.” It’s the same. “Mohammad Amir did not work hard enough and his performance declined,” he added.
