Islamabad: April 7, 2020 (TNS): The government will take decisive action against those involved in the wheat and artificial sugar crisis after releasing the report of the Inquiry commission on the 25th of this month.
This was stated by the Special Assistant to the Prime Minister for Information and Broadcasting Dr. Firdous Ashiq Awan was briefing reporters about the decision of the Federal Cabinet, who met in Islamabad today (Tuesday) with Prime Minister Imran Khan in the chair.
He said the government engine was fully active to ensure the availability of quality edibles at affordable prices and no negligence would be tolerated in this matter.
Firdous Ashiq Awan said the prime minister had warned that strict action would be taken against those found involved in throwing threats at the commission.
The Special Assistant said the Prime Minister had directed to resolve the problems faced by farmers and farmers immediately.
Prime Minister Imran Khan’s Special Assistant on Accountability, Shahzad Akbar submitted a report to the cabinet about the shortage of sugar and wheat in the country.
The Cabinet approved the proposal regarding revamping, reconstructing, and reorganizing the Evacuee Trust Property Council, giving a nod to utilizing its properties in the Health, Education and Housing sectors.
National Health Services Special Assistant Dr. Zafar Mirza gave a briefing to the cabinet about the ongoing Coronavirus cases and government steps to provide assistance to the working population affected by Corona.
The Cabinet was informed that 39,000 personal protective equipment had been sent to all provinces to protect paramedical staff involved in patients affected by Coronavirus.
Special Assistant for Youth Affairs Usman Dar told the cabinet that 7,17,119 youths had so far been registered with the Corona Relief Force Tigers, who worked at district, technical and Union Council levels throughout the country.
Special Assistant for Social Protection Dr. Sania Nishtar gave a brief explanation to the cabinet about the Ehsaas Emergency Cash Program.
The Cabinet was informed that the federal government provided cash assistance of 12,000 rupees to more than 12 million eligible families under the Ehsaas Emergency Money Program after the coronavirus outbreak in the country.
Eligible families will get this cash assistance after biometric verification through more than 18,065 sales points or Habib Bank Limited and Al-Falah Bank retail stores throughout the country.
The Cabinet also approved the provision of broadband internet services through the Universal Service Fund to 62 districts in the country.
