ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan said on Sunday that the federal government is using all resources to curb the spread of new corona viruses in the country, ARY News reported.

Speaking with his advisers on Parliamentary Affairs Babar Awan who called him in the capital, the prime minister said the biggest challenge was to provide assistance to ordinary people who were hardest hit with locked restrictions imposed to stem the spread of the deadly virus.

He said he was pleased that his economic team drew up an emergency action plan on time.

PM Khan announced that the government would take major steps to accelerate economic activity in the country.

In his remarks, Babar Awan said the government launched an unfriendly aid package for the first time in the country’s history. The government shows statesmanship in the testing period, he maintains.

Aiming at opposition leaders, he said they had played political accusations and did not have a manifesto for the welfare of the people. He said security measures would be ensured before a session of the National Assembly was held.
