Rawalpindi: The Islamabad Electric Supply Company (Iesco) ‘s high claims regarding the supply of interrupted power supplies during Ramazan were proven wrong because consumers continued to face long, low voltage and tripping power interruptions.
The residents of the Adiala Subdivision not only spend the night without sleep but do ‘sehri’ in the dark due to prolonged power interruptions for different reasons with paralyzed reasons for maintenance work, major disruptions to the supply line, disruptions at the grid station and daily closing schedules.
On Saturday night, electricity was severely disrupted by a hurricane, and was restored in several areas in the morning but most areas of the Adiala Sub Division remained without electricity until the submission of this report here on Sunday.
In a state of tension, a mob of angry consumers went to the Adiala Investigation Office but all the staff fled on the occasion. That is a routine problem because consumers face difficulties permanently but high-ranking officials of the Islamabad Electricity Supply Company (Iesco) have not dealt with the situation.
Sub Divisional Officer (SDO) Adiala Abdul Hameed told ‘The News’ that electricity supply in most areas was affected by heavy rains and typhoons. “Iesco staff continues to work to find faults in the supply lines to restore electricity in all areas,” he said. He also said that Iesco observed a power outage to continue maintenance work on alternative days. “We are trying to provide a smooth supply of electricity in all areas during Ramazan,” he assured.
On Saturday night, the electricity went out from 11:40 a.m. (Saturday night) until 10:10 am on Sunday. Residents of Munawar Colony, Kalyal, Al-Mumtaz Colony, Dhoke Juma, Sher Zaman Colony, Syedan Dhama, Ali City, Gulshanabad, Madina City, Pure Gorakh, Talhi Mohri, Dehri Hasanabad, Bakra Mandi, Dhamial, Dhoke Kalhoor, Mubarak Lane, Hill Hill View Lane, Morgah, Defense Road, and several other areas have been affected by power failures
