KU beat IBA as Inter-varsity women’s football kicked off | Instant News


KARACHI: Under the auspices of the Higher Education Commission (HEC) Islamabad, NEDUET hosted the 2020-21 All Pakistan Intervarsity Football (Women) Championship from February 25 to 28 on the newly installed FIFA standard synthetic football pitch.

In the first match, Karachi University defeated the Institute of Business Administration by a score of 4-0. Sosar and Haseena each scored two goals.

Syed Imtiaz Ali Shah, the Sindh Youth & Sports Affairs Secretary, inaugurated the championship and pledged the support of the Sindh government in promoting sports at the university.

NED University vice chancellor Prof Dr Sarosh Hashmat Lodi welcomed participating universities from all over Pakistan and said that the award for the massive sporting development at NED University goes to chief minister Sindh Murad Ali Shah.

The participating teams are Women University Multan, Khawaja Fareed University of Engineering and Information Technology (KFUEIT), Bahauddin Zakaria University (Multan), Benazir Bhutto Shaheed University Lyari, University of Punjab, University of Karachi, Institute of Business Administration (IBA), University Hamdard, Lahore University, Lahore Women’s College, NED University of Engineering & Technology, and Superior University.
