KARACHI: Babar Azam | and Mohammad NabiThe century-old lifted Raja Karachi to a six-goal win over Peshawar Zalmi on Wednesday in another successful chase at Pakistani Super League.
Babar made the 77 unbeaten and Nabi scored 67 from 35 balls as they shared the fourth goal defense running 118 of 61 balls in Karachi’s strong chase with 191/4 in 19.3 overs.
Previously, after being hit, Peshawar recovered from 34/3 to hit 188/5 with Ravi Bopara scored an unbeaten 58 and Amad Butt made a quick 27 from just seven deliveries.
“The way Babar Azam and Mohammad Nabi play is fantastic to see,” captain Karachi Imad Wasim the word. “You just have to be patient on this surface and if you adapt yourself you can score a lot of points.”
Fast bowler Daniel Christian got the most expensive bowling ever PSL history when he conceded 32 runs late in the final half as Butt smashed two sixs and three boundaries while conceding six times wide.
The win lifted defending champions Karachi to the top of the standings with eight points from five matches. Peshawar is second with six points.

Peshawar’s hitting streak also helped Karachi as Butt knocked out Nabi’s babysitter in the deep midwicket when the Afghan hitter was 20. Nabi eventually fell 17th to Saqib Mahmood (2-41) after hitting eight four and four six.
“Of course it’s a very important catch, we should have got that catch,” substitute captain Peshawar Shoaib Malik said as he led his team after regular captain Wahab Riaz was kicked out of the game with a back spasm. “In a high-scoring match, whoever plays well has the advantage in close range.”
Babar finished his third half of the season from 35 balls with six from Butt over midwicket before Christian finished the game with a flicked boundary.
