ISLAMABAD (Web Desk) – Saddar Islamabad Zone police arrested 112 criminals including 45 fugitives over the past two weeks and found millions of looted goods, wine and weapons from them, a police spokesman said on Thursday.

According to the details, the various teams headed by SP (Saddar) Sarfaraz Ahmed Virk achieved extraordinary success against criminal elements. The police arrested 17 people for their alleged involvement in robbery / robbery and picked up the car and found items looted including gold ornaments, three vehicles and motorbikes from them.

Police also arrested 45 fugitives during the same period, while seven were detained for involvement in smuggling and drug trafficking activities.

Meanwhile, 11 people were arrested for possessing illegal weapons including nine pistols, one MP5 shotgun, ammunition and daggers.

Five people were arrested after registering two cases under the Foreign Law while three were arrested for violating the Security and Store Law.

In addition, the police arrested five gamblers and took the stake and other belongings from them. A special campaign was launched against professional asylum seekers and the police arrested 103 beggars.

Eleven habitual perpetrators were arrested during the same period while 78 people were detained for violating Article 144 red-handed and 169 suspects had to face police surveillance.

When reviewing this performance, SP (Saddar) Sarfaraz Ahmed Virk appreciated it and said that criminal elements would not be avoided and those involved in anti-social activities must face legal action. He also directed the SDPO and SHO in the Saddar police area to ensure effective policing measures.

He also urged residents to cooperate with the police in curbing the activities of these elements.
