A petition, filed at the Lahore High Court (LHC), on Monday called for the humiliation process of Prime Minister Imran Khan. for his remarks to the court during its first direct public session.
The petition also said PEMRA and PTV should be examined in relation to ‘the on-air humiliation program ‘.
Sardar Farhat Manzoor Khan, in his petition, made the Pakistan Federation, through its information and technology secretary, the prime minister’s private secretary, PEMRA and PTV as respondents.
He argues that on April 4, respondents held a live event with questions and answers from the prime minister, who “spoke a few words against the justice system”.
The meaning of these words means to give a message to the general public that some of the mistakes with respect to Mian Nawaz Sharif, if any, are on the side of the judge, whose flow of thoughts and words on the part of the Prime Minister is mainly through the PTV print media, which is at least used to see 39 countries and so far the same social media are used throughout the world in fact, the same is also an offense as follows:
I- Article 204 of the Constitution of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan 1973 which regulates defamation of courts.
II- Articles 68 and 114 of the 1973 Constitution of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan which prohibit such derogatory types of work against the courts, even in parliament. ”
The Petitioner further stated that there were several legal cases where stakeholders were summoned and punished for this, particularly in the case of Yusuf Raza Gillani.
He further stated that such behavior should not be tolerated and immediate action is also needed to safeguard the dignity of the beloved Pakistani judge.
The Petitioner also prays for the hearing that the respondent will be directed to refrain from ‘permanently saying, using, showing words or programs that are contradictory or involve ridiculous and insulting attitudes, actions and actions against the judicial system or judicial judges of the Islamic Republic. from Pakistan ‘.
It is further urged that respondents be summoned and questioned regarding the programs that are broadcast for the benefit of the judiciary and the general public.
