KARACHI: Sindh High Court Judge (SHC), Judge Arshad Hussain, has received temporary bail for Karachi’s former Cyber Crime Cell in charge, Abdul Ghaffar, in the case filed by the Anti-Corruption Circle.
On the other hand, an interesting disclosure was revealed in the case filed by Cyber Crime Cell against Aptech that the investigating officer (IO) of the case, the assistant director, Shahryar, was an employee of the same IT company, which the FIA closed after registering the case. . When IO was contacted and asked for a copy of the FIR, interestingly, he replied that he did not have a copy of the FIR, saying to get it from the deputy director, Shahbaz. It can be said that 9/2021 case was registered on March 30th and Shahryar has been appointed as IO. The assistant director said he was not an employee of an IT company but worked at a private TV channel which is one of its subsidiaries. It is worth mentioning that FIR 5/2021 has been registered against the deputy director of FIA, Abdul Ghaffar, owner and employee of Aptech, where FIA officials are accused of receiving millions of rupees through extortion, harassment and company, while the owner, Zenum Balwani and other employees who have paid bribes, although there is no written or oral evidence. After that, Aptech was raided and the case was registered on March 30, 2021. A total of 23 people were charged in the case, including two female employees of the IT company. The FIR said the investigation began after the intelligence agency’s report “Operation Against International Fraud”, in which five IT companies were nominated, including Aptech. The Deputy Director of the FIA, Abdul Ghaffar, has raided a company, called DiGitonics, arrested several suspects and registered a case against them. After that, the deputy director kept asking for permission to raid Aptech but was not allowed and then he was transferred.
Assistant Director of FIA, Shahryar was in charge of this case and he raided Aptech and registered a case against it. Due to insufficient evidence in the case, the father and brother of one defendant were detained for several hours and under pressure for giving statements against Aptech. It is worth mentioning that when Cyber Crime Cell began its investigation of five IT companies, there was propaganda that the former owner of the IT company, then running his private TV channel, was behind the raids because of his former employees. started their own IT company after the IT company closed.
