Prime Minister’s Special Assistant (SAPM) on Information and Broadcasting Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan said that the opposition must respect Prime Minister Imran Khan’s steps for self-accountability.

In a tweet, SAP Firdous said that the opposition must hold accountable instead of criticizing the government because the state still remembers subsidies given by past authorities to their family members.

He said that six families control more than 50% of the country’s sugar factories and only certain classes are used to benefit from past regulatory policies. But this will not happen in ‘Naya Pakistan’, he stressed.

Dr Firdous further said that the opposition must respect Imran Khan rather than politicize investigative reports on the sugar and wheat crisis.

He also added that Imran Khan or his family did not have a sugar factory and issuing FIA reports was proof that protecting the interests of the masses was the prime priority of the PM.
