Old video from Pakistan
By searching for keywords on YouTube, Alt News found an extension the video from the same incident posted on August 26, 2019. From 21 seconds Furthermore in the video below, people can see the same viral visuals on social media. The video is titled, “Naked men enter the mosque, Gulshan e Hadeed Karachi.”
According to the clip’s description, the video was from Karachi Pakistan and the incident occurred at a mosque in “Gulshan e Hadeed”. We searched several mosques on Google maps located in this area and found that the incident happened at Jamia Khalid Bin Waleed Mosque. In the comparison posted below, we have matched the frame of the video with the mosque image available on Google. The matching similarities are as follows:
- Glass window on the second floor.
- Burnt window on the first floor.
- Blue nameplate.
In addition, we found that the same video was posted on reverse color at least three days before the video quoted above, that is, on August 23, 2019. According to the description, the man was identified as Shafiq Abro who was later arrested by the police. He also said that the man was the son of a police command and he was mentally handicapped.
Therefore, old video footage at a mosque in Karachi Pakistan was distributed when Tablighi Jamaat members ran naked in the isolation room and caused damage to public property. This is another attempt to vilify the Muslim community with misinformation and especially those who test positive after attending a religious meeting at Nizamuddin in Delhi in mid-March. Earlier this week, Saharanpur UP police report reporting errors by two national dailies claiming that Tablighi Jamaat members defecated in the open after they refused non-vegetarian food.
