CHICAGO: American author Firas Alkhateeb on Monday warned readers to be careful of a fake version of his book, Lost Islamic History, which misinterprets historical facts and has been circulating on the internet. He urged readers to buy the original book instead of being involved in piracy.
In a message shared on Twitter’s social networking platform, the author said that the fake version of the book was entirely inaccurate and islamic. He urged readers to buy the original version from the publisher or e-commerce giant Amazon.
“PSA for people now interested in my book on the recommendation of @ImranKhanPTI: there is a free pdf that claims to be my book online which is completely inaccurate & Islamophobic. This is NOT my book. If you want to read Lost Islamic History, buy it from the publisher or from Amazon, please, “he wrote.
On May 1, People Focused on Digital Media to Prime Minister Imran Khan, Arsalan Khalid, distributed a free version of the book on his Twitter page, urging users to download electronic books and read them according to the prime minister’s recommendations.
PM Imran also on May 1 recommended that teens read the famous book by Firas Alkhateeb to engage in insightful and enlightening reading during coronavirus locking. In a tweet, the prime minister said that the book outlines the rich history of Islamic civilization.
“Good readings for our teens during locked days. “An excellent brief history of the driving force that made the greatest Islamic civilization of its time and then the factor behind its decline,” the prime minister wrote on the social networking platform.
Missing Islamic History by Firas Khateeb explains how Islam and Muslims around the world foster peace, promote universal values, and dialogue among civilizations. It aims to present historical facts that have been ignored or underestimated by other scholars.
“Presenting 1,400 years of Islamic civilization in a comprehensive and easy-to-follow way is not easy … this book is valuable not only because of its insights on unknown aspects of Islamic history, but also as a general introduction to the subject,” read the review book online.
