Two terrorist suspects were shot dead in a joint attack carried out by Counter Terrorism
The Sindh Department (CTD) with the help of federal intelligence agents on Tuesday.
King Umer Khattab, an inch from the Transnational Terrorists Intelligence Group (TTIG), said they were given information about the presence of terrorists in Wazir Brohi Goth, SITE Superhighway, Malir, during an investigation into the official intelligence agency’s killing carried out on February 21 this year in the Super area Highway.
Furthermore, he said, when the attack was carried out, a meeting occurred when the terrorists tried to escape from the scene.
After a brief meeting, he said, they arrested two men in injured condition while their colleague managed to escape. Those injured were transferred to the hospital where they were declared dead, he added.
Khattab said those killed were identified as Ali Dost and Liaquat. Two pistols and other items were found in their possession, he added.
The investigation revealed that they were involved in several killings, robberies, police meetings and other criminal offenses, he said, adding that they wanted to go to Ittehad City, Orangi City, Pakistan’s Bazaar, Surjani City and CTD police station.
The Karachi Special Investigation Unit (SIU) arrested three suspects, including two terrorist suspects in illicit clothing who were involved in many murders.
Senior Police Inspector (SSP) Irfan Ali Bahadur, head of the Karachi SIU, said investigations in terrorism cases were ongoing in which they acted on intelligence information and carried out two separate raids on the outskirts of the city.
He said they arrested two suspects who were later identified as the Prophet Gul and Muhammad Aqeel. He said the suspects were moved to headquarters to conduct investigations and weapons were found on them.
During a preliminary investigation, it was found that the suspects were trained in Afghanistan in a banned clothing camp, he said. In 2008, they targeted two officials of the Intelligence Bureau (IB) in the Burns Road area, Saddar, he added.
In addition, they were also involved in a number of killings in the city, said the head of the SIU in Karachi.
SSP Bahadur said they carried out another attack on Lyari and captured Shahzad alias Chootu with weapons.
The arrested suspect was linked to Lyari’s gang war group, Uzair Baloch, he said.
In an interrogation, the arrest admitted that he was targeting more than 40 people in various parts of the city, he added.
The arrested suspects told them that he had killed several activists from the Baba Ladla group and also people associated with different political parties on the orders of Uzair Baloch, he said.
