He said there had been a surge in cases, but not so much that our health system had collapsed.

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – The Federal Minister for Planning, Development and Special Initiative Asad Umar said on Wednesday that a decision is being made in the country with consensus and the decision to open the mall and resume flight operations will be made in the coming days because talks are ongoing.

Speaking exclusively in the Dunya News program, “Dunya Kamran Khan Kay Sath” on Wednesday, he said that Prime Minister Imran Khan had said that the number of cases of the corona virus would be seen to increase, adding that there was a surge in cases, but not so many. that our health system is collapsing.

The minister said that we would be forced to reconsider the decision if cases began to escalate, adding that the possibility of a coronavirus situation was reviewed after every ten days. He said the situation in May was as expected compared to last month’s forecast.

“Restrictions have been eased to facilitate people for their jobs and business but the situation can worsen the way people leave their homes in the past two days,” he said.

For a question, Asad Umar said that there were difficulties at the beginning of Ramazan on the Taraweeh issue but then there was 70 percent implementation, adding that we cannot charge the people but the traders have a greater responsibility to implement the SOP.

The federal minister went on to say that it would take around 12 to 18 months to develop a vaccine for the new corona virus.

No country in the world is trying to close the country completely, he said and added that we have learned to live with a pandemic and we must ensure that our health system does not collapse.

Asad Umar further said that the big decisions being implemented throughout the country could not be changed every two days, adding that we would be forced to reconsider those decisions if cases began to escalate. “The economic difficulties of millions of people cannot be ignored,” he said.

The planning minister said: “The decision to open a bigger market was taken at the last moment and now talks are ongoing to open the mall and it is not understandable to keep people’s transportation closed, adding that a decision will be taken in this matter in the coming days.”

For other questions, he said we made difficult decisions according to the nation’s aspirations with consultation and consensus and it was not realistic to expect that every decision made in the first place would prove to be correct.

“All provinces as a whole have worked together a lot in decision making,” he said and added there would be no consensus if everything went according to my logic.

The federal minister said according to our estimates, 60 percent of the industry works and we want people to have the freedom to do business and the pandemic is not out of control. He said the solution was to see the effect two to four weeks after the decision, and the next decision would be made based on the hospital and pandemic situation.

According to tracking, testing and quarantine, more than 500 locally targeted actions have been taken. It is estimated that the spread in Pakistan is low so the packing phase may take a long time.
