The newly appointed Director of High Performance PCB, Nadeem Khan said that achievement and experience will be the main criteria when determining individuals.

“Now if a foreigner meets the criteria he will be appointed. If a Pakistani meets all the eligibility criteria he will be chosen,” Nadeem said while speaking to reporters via video conference.

The former left arm spinner, who is the brother of former Test Pakistan captain Moin Khan, also explained that coaches with a suspicious background or history would not be allowed to work at the High Performance Center.

“We will check the background of all available coaches and if someone has a suspicious background he will be released,” Nadeem said.

Nadeem, who has replaced the former Mudassar Nazar Test all-rounder as head of the High Performance Center, disagrees with the suggestion that only players with more international experience will be taken into account.

“This does not need to happen in modern cricket. They are many examples of cricket that played very little or even no international cricket, but was very successful as a high-performance coach or manager,” he said.

Nadeem, 50, who only made two Tests and as many as ODI appearances for Pakistan, also said that he would introduce a tracking system that is appropriate for players in the country starting from levels below 13.

“We have to have the right tracking system for all players because we have lost and will continue to lose a lot of good talent because we have not tracked the players’ progress, development, behavior and discipline for years,” he said. .

He also said that he did not believe in forcibly introducing a culture of fitness among the players.

“Fitness is something that I believe we have to make individuals realize the importance of it and take an interest in it without having to tell them what to do,” Nadeem said.
