PESHAWAR: Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Mahmood Khan said the sustainable development of the merged tribal districts was the government’s top priority.
“We are taking results-oriented steps for the rapid development of the tribal district under a comprehensive strategy that is in line with Prime Minister Imran Khan’s vision.
“I monitor their implementation so that they are finished within the time specified for the benefit of the people,” he said in a consultative meeting of MPs from the tribal district here a few days ago about the regional development portfolio for the upcoming Annual Development Program.
Federal religious affairs minister Noorul Haq Qadri, chief minister’s adviser on information Ajmal Wazir, provincial aid and rehabilitation minister Iqbal Wazir and chief minister’s special assistant on excise and taxation Ghazan Jamal, elected MPs from the tribal district attended the meeting.
The chief minister said efforts for sustainable development of an area would not produce the desired results until the local population and relevant stakeholders were consulted and had become a basic principle for the government that no development scheme in the tribal district would be carried out. started without consulting elected representatives from the local population.
Mahmood said he implemented a monitoring scheme
He said the merging of former tribal areas with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa was a historic development.
Mahmood said that under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Imran Khan, the government was able to complete the entire process in a short time and very smoothly.
“After completing the merger process smoothly, the government is now taking concrete steps to accelerate regional development to be equal to other developed regions in the province.
“I hope that the merger will benefit people from the regions who join soon,” he said.
Regarding the legislator’s request to accelerate the pace of implementing development schemes in the tribal areas, the chief minister directed the relevant authorities for immediate and necessary steps for this effect.
The elected representative praised the prime role of the prime minister and Chief Minister Mahmood Khan for the smooth integration of tribal areas and said without the personal involvement of the two leaders, the merger would not be possible in a short time. .
Participants thanked the chief minister for holding a consultative session to consult with them on the upcoming tribal district development program.
The chief minister said such a session would be held in the future, too, to bring them to the board on the development of the merged regions.
