KARACHI: Law enforcement agencies in Sindh are very active against criminals operating major terrorist networks through terrorist funding, recruiting and assigning terrorists, surveillance and reconnaissance of sensitive facilities allegedly on behalf of the Indian intelligence agency, Research and Analysis Wing (RAW) and the Muttahida Qaumi-Movement London.
Eight suspected RAW members associated with MQM-L have been arrested by law enforcement agencies.
Earlier assistant sub-inspector (ASI) Syed Musawir Ali was arrested by the Anti-Terror Wing of the Federal Investigation Agency assigned to the Sindh Police Special Branch and he served in the Jinnah International Airport surveillance unit.
According to his details, he has been accused of being a key member of the RAW sleep cell and running a large terrorist and surveillance network and he used to facilitate terrorist travel from Karachi airport.
Last month the SIU SSP chief Irfan Bahadur claimed in a presser that ASI Shahzad Pervez who was placed in the investigative wing of the Sharea Faisal police station had been arrested because he had links with Indian spy agents RAW and the Muttahida Qaumi-London Movement (MQM-L) .
Prior to this, the anti-terrorism wing of the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) had arrested a RAW agent allegedly identified as Asif Siddique, working as a class 17 government employee in an office on SITE, the FIA said. The agency claimed that he used to get information about security agencies and sent it to India via email. He is also said to be related to MQM-London.
Sindh police also claimed they had arrested ‘the head of the terrorism wing of the Indian intelligence agency RAW in Karachi, Shahid alias’ Muttahida’ and his two accomplices Siraj Razi and Majid Ali. In front of them Asif Ali Khan who was a close aide to Amir Khan and Rehan Ali was a longtime party guard had also been arrested, all suspects were said to have worked with RAW agents who had been arrested recently.
