Aleem Khan called Rana Sana
ISLAMABAD: Senior Pakistani member Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Aleem Khan has made a telephone call to the president of the Pakistan-Nawaz Muslim League (PML-N) (Punjab Chapter) Rana Sanaullah and discussed with him the rapidly changing political scenario especially in the context of the Punjab province , sources told The News here on Wednesday.
The source said Aleem Khan had contacted PML-N (Bab Punjab) president Rana Sanaullah and told him that he wanted to discuss some important issues in the context of the rapidly changing political scenario.
“PML-N leader Rana Sanaullah immediately told PML-N president Shahbaz Sharif about this political development that had told him to wait until he gave him direction in this matter,” the source said.
The source said Rana Sanaullah would give an answer to PTI members who appeared to be dissatisfied after receiving directions from Shahbaz Sharif.
They said the PML-N leadership would assess all political options but would likely keep a safe distance from PTI segments suspected of being involved in the flour and wheat crisis and blamed for generating billions of rupees through government subsidies and price increases.
The sources said Aleem Khan had also approached Rana Sanaullah in the past when he was practically sidelined because of his growing differences with Prime Minister Imran Khan regarding the situation in the Punjab province.
When Rana Sanaullah was arrested in a controversial narcotics case, PTI members sent him a text message and hoped he would be forthright in this case, said the source.
When contacted, PML-N leader Rana Sanaullah confirmed to The News that “I have a detailed telephone conversation with Aleem Khan and we are discussing the current political situation in the country.”
For a question, he said, “It is too early to say that PML-N and the disgruntled PTI group led by Aleem Khan will try to bring about internal change in Punjab because our party has a principled attitude in this matter.”
He said: “First we want electoral reform and then we look for new elections but there can be temporary arrangements until the completion of these objectives.”
Answering the question, he said “If someone says that Aleem Khan has the support of 20 to 25 members of the PTI Punjab Assembly then he will underestimate it. I personally know his true strength in the PTI ranks, which is far greater than that.”
He said when Aleem Khan was arrested and handcuffed during the PTI government, he contacted him and asked him that Imran Khan had not been kind to him.
“Likewise, when I was arrested in a false case Aleem Khan sent me a message and expressed his objections. So we have a good mutual relationship that is getting stronger every day, “he said.
For another question, he said that some PTI members from Punjab had also made contact with PML-N in the past but the PML-N leadership then decided that it would be useless to become part of the power politics without having a clear person. political agenda oriented
