CHARSADDA: District contractors on Tuesday called on Prime Minister Imran Khan and Chief Minister Mahmood Khan to pay attention to the rampant anomalies and corruption in the Ministry of Public Health and give them justice. Speaking with reporters, the president of the Charsadda Contractors Association Mir Akbar, Habibullah Khan and others accused XEN of being involved in corruption and irregularities. They said the official threatened the contractor by introducing himself as a cousin of Ziaullah Bangash provincial minister and trying to seize their rights. They said that the department had auctioned tenders in various newspapers for a development scheme carried out with the funds of the Provincial Assembly Members (MPA) in 36 union councils in Charsadda on May 7 where local contractors had applied for contracts. According to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Revenue Authority (KPRA) rules, tenders will be opened after two weeks after their publication in the newspaper. However, they accuse the tender of being opened after 12 days of their publicity, which they claim is illegal and violates KPRA rules. The contractor also complained that they were not provided an online list by the department because they wanted to keep the door open for corruption. They demanded the prime minister and the chief minister to order an impartial inquiry into corruption allegations in the district’s public health department. When contacted, XEN Junaid Khan, rejected the accusation and said that he had not violated the KPRA rules when opening the tender.
