Prime Minister Imran Khan will chair a federal cabinet meeting on Thursday to discuss the current situation in the country.
Media reports said that Prime Minister Imran Khan would chair the meeting. The cabinet will give a briefing on the forensic report on the sugar crisis in the country. The investigative commission investigating the sugar crisis in the country has prepared its forensic report and will present it to the federal cabinet.
In addition, the commission, which is headed by the Director General of the Federal Investigation Agency Wajid Zia, will submit the report and also give a brief explanation to the participants about its findings. The day before, Federal Information Minister Shibli Faraz said there was a 90% chance that the forensic report would come before Eid.
The Cabinet will also discuss strategies related to tackling coronavirus outbreaks in the country.
Please note that the number of corona virus cases in this country has jumped to 48,091 with 2,193 reported over the past 24 hours. According to the National Command and Operations Center, 17,382 cases so far have been detected in Punjab, 18,964 in Sindh, 6,815 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 2,968 in Balochistan, 1,235 in Islamabad, 579 in Gilgit-Baltistan, and 148 in Azad Kashmir. 14,155 patients have so far recovered from the virus while mortality has reached 1,017 with 32 new deaths reported over the past twenty-four hours.
