Eighteen doctors from the orthopedic ward at the Lahore General Hospital were diagnosed with coronavirus on Thursday after that the General Medical Superintendent Hospital (MS) initially closed the orthopedic ward at first for three days.
According to the management of the Lahore General Hospital, after the doctor tested positive for the virus, the head of the orthopedic ward had written a letter to the principal stating that the rest of the ward’s doctors had been quarantined, therefore, the ward had to be closed for at least 10 days.
MS Mahmood Tariq General Hospital noted that the ward had initially been closed for three days and had been disinfected after a surge in cases among hospital staff.
According to hospital sources, three doctors and two nurses from the Institute of Neuroscience have also tested positive for corona virus.
