The Sugar inquiry commission report is presented in the Federal Cabinet
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – The inquiry commission on Thursday presented a forensic report on the sugar scandal in the Federal Cabinet session chaired by Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan for discussion.
During the meeting, Director General of the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Wajid Zia gave a briefing to the cabinet members about the report.
It must be mentioned here that the previous sugar crisis investigation was postponed because the inquiry commission had sought time to submit the final report.
Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar, Federal Minister Asad Umar, Counsel for PM Abdul Razak Dawood and former Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi have appeared before the commission on the issue of sugar subsidies.
The first deadline for investigative commission reports is April 25, however, at the commission’s request, the cabinet extended the deadline to this day.
