Prime Minister Imran Khan said the development of the merged area was the government’s top priority.

He chaired a high-level meeting in Islamabad today on Khyber Pakhtunkhwa development issues, reforms regarding the next budget, the provincial economic situation in the context of the corona virus and future actions.

The Prime Minister called for accelerating the process of institutional reform to reduce unnecessary spending.

He was directed to make people follow the provincial economic situation in the view of the coronavirus.

Imran Khan said the solution out of the box needs to be focused on the next budget.

He said the promotion of public private partnerships should be the focus of attention in development projects so that not only development needs are met but also the burden on the government is reduced due to the increasing role of the private sector in the development process.

Intentional about energy-related issues, the Prime Minister was directed to design future actions in consultation with the Ministry of Energy to exploit the province’s potential.

The meeting was given a brief explanation of the progress in the formation of the Rashakai Special Economic Zone and the implementation of Phase Two Swat Motorway.
