LAHORE: Seventeen more patients have died of coronaviruses throughout the province over the past 24 hours which claimed 290 lives in Punjab on Wednesday.
Of those six each died in Lahore and Rawalpindi while the others were reported from Faisalabad, Multan and Sargodha.
Likewise, 709 more people tested positive for the virus in Punjab during the past 24 hours – Lahore 368, Rawalpindi 79, Multan 61, Gujranwala 59 and Faisalabad 47.
Other districts, including Behawalpur, Bhakkar, Khoshab, Lodhran, Nankana Sahib, Dera Ghazi Khan and Narowal also reported new cases.
A health ministry spokesman said the total number of confirmed cases of the virus in Punjab had reached 16,685. He said that 688 confirmed patients from Covid-19 recovered and were discharged from various provincial health facilities during the past 24 hours.
