LAHORE: Punjab Health Minister Dr Yasmin Rashid chaired a Cabinet Committee meeting on dengue control at the Civil Secretariat here on Thursday.

In addition to Chief Punjab Secretary Jawad Rafique Malik, the meeting was attended by Primary Secretary and Captain of Secondary Health Department (R) Usman Younis, Commissioner of Lahore, Director General of Rescue and senior officials while commissioners and deputy commissioners from all districts joined via video link.

The Minister reviewed the arrangements made for the prevention and control of dengue in Punjab. Secretary of the Department of Primary and Secondary Health Usman Younis told the chairman of the steps taken in Punjab in the current season to control dengue fever.

The Minister in his speech said that the government would not tolerate neglect and the district government must ensure the implementation of SOPs in controlling dengue fever in the form of letters and enthusiasm.

He said, “We have faced a dangerous Corona pandemic but we have ensured that an all-out effort has been made to control epidemics and infectious diseases. On our side, the government uses all resources; however, I ask everyone to follow the precautionary guidelines. I assure you that the government will not leave you alone. “Then, Chief Secretary Jawad Rafique Malik directed the commissioners and deputy commissioners to ensure the implementation of SOPs in the districts.

corona test: The Punjab Health Commission (PHC) on Thursday banned corona virus testing at the Mughal Diagnostic and Research Center because it did not apply the required standards.

A special inspection from the Mughal Center in Johar City was carried out and the process for the test was found not to meet the standards. Previously, the National Institute of Health had visited the place as well.

Meanwhile, the PHC team sealed 20 shamanistic outlets in four cities after inspecting 150 treatment centers. In Sheikhupura, in addition to closing the business of six shamans, the New Standard Lab was also sealed because it did not get PHC registration or hire qualified staff.

In other cities, the businesses of seven backstreet shamans in Lahore, four in Mattresses and three in Chiniot are locked. Bilal Clinic, Shaheen Clinic, Siraj Hadi Jorr, Jabroo Pehalwan, Tahir Shifakhana, Abdullah Dawakhana and Abu Bakar Dental Clinic are closed in the City.
