KARACHI: Seven family members, including two children, tested positive for the corona virus in Karachi on Thursday, Sindh (CM) Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah told via video message for the country.
“What we fear has happened. The head of the family who lives in the Karachi Central Zone catches the virus and takes him home. A one-year-old boy and a six-year-old girl are among those infected, “he said, via video message.
According to the details, the head of the family went outside, was infected somewhere and brought the virus back home and now the whole family, including a one-year-old son and a six-year-old daughter, have been diagnosed as a coronavirus patient. .
CM said that despite serious efforts and stringent containment policies, the corona virus has penetrated into the slums because slum residents have failed to maintain social distance as suggested by experts.
He said that he was afraid of the day when the virus began to spread in slums because people lived in small houses with large families there.
The CM urged people from the Katchi Century to get rations or cash when distributed in their area but avoid crowding, if not. “You will not only be infected but you will bring the virus back home and infect your loved ones,” he warned.
