Pehchaan application, launched by the Punjab Police to check criminal history | Instant News


The Punjab police introduced an application for smartphones, named Pehchaan, to check citizens’ criminal records before hiring servants or domestic workers.

This application was launched with collaboration from Government of the Safe City of Punjab (PSCA), to examine the criminal history of citizens, especially when employed as domestic helpers or domestic workers.

Zulfiqar Hameed, City Police Officer (CCPO) Lahore, at a ceremony held at the CCPO office officially launched the Pehchaan application. Inam Waheed, DIG Investigation, and Zeeshan Asghar, SSP Investigation, were also present at the launch ceremony.

When informing the media about the application, CCPO Lahore Zulfiqar Hameed stated: “It is very important to know the history of every citizen before recruiting for domestic work”. This application will help citizens to know about the criminal history of citizens, which will help find honest people as domestic workers ”.

The Pehchaan application is a criminal history check system, a mobile application developed for Punjab residents to get the latest information from their CNIC, and their records. The Pehchaan application, available for the city of Lahore, will then be issued throughout the province.

In addition, the application can be used to carry out various identifications. For example, the application will be useful before conducting financial transactions with unknown individuals.

Previously, the Punjab Safe City Authority (PSCA) in collaboration with the City Traffic Police (CTP) had launched the ‘E-Challan’ Electronic Traffic Violation Ticket system in Lahore to mobilize energy efficiently. This electronic system identifies violators of traffic regulations with the help of the latest Automatic Vehicle Plate Number (ANPR) camera, which is installed by PSCA on various city streets.

Almost the same application, with the same title, Pehchaan is also available on Google Play, which was developed for residents of Rajasthan, Punjab India to get the latest information on details of their birth and death, personal information and marriage registration.
