LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar launched a book called Mon The Monuments of Lahore, ‘an architectural archeological collage of the provincial metropolis, in his office on Friday. The information secretary and director of archeology were also present at the occasion.
Punjab Youth Minister Taimoor Bhatti handed over the book to the chief minister. The CM appreciates the efforts of the archeology department to preserve the history of 83 historic buildings of the provincial capital through this book.
He added that these buildings are valuable heritage and the provincial capital enjoys a unique position because of its rich archaeological and cultural heritage. The chief minister further said that this pictorial history would make the citizens of the province aware of the diverse culture and history of the city of Lahore.
He argues that the provincial capital has long been a center of cultural and literary activity and that its archaeological heritage is still very interesting.
