KARACHI, Pakistan (AP) A jet carrying 98 people crashed in a crowded environment near the airport in the port city of Pakistan, Karachi, after the engine crashed during landing.

Officials said there were at least two survivors of the Airbus A320, and it is not known how many people on the ground were injured, with at least five houses destroyed.

Pilots from Pakistan International Airlines Flight 8303 were heard transmitting Mayday just before the accident. It flew from Lahore to Karachi, taking a lot of traveling for the Muslim holiday of Eid.

The video on social media appeared to show a jet flying low with a fire shot from one of its engines.

At least 57 bodies have been found.
