SWABI: Seven people were killed and several others injured in a different incident here on Saturday.
Two people were killed when their motorcyclists collided near the Swabi crossing of the Islamabad-Peshawar highway, while one other person was seriously injured who was taken to the Bacha Khan Hospital Complex and then referred to the Lady Ready Hospital, Peshawar.
SHO Shafiq Khan told this correspondent that Jawad Khan, one of the two victims, came from the city of Chota Lahor, while the corpse of the second victim was placed in Chota Lahor hospital for identification. He said that the collision was so severe that both motorbikes were completely damaged.
In the village of Yar Hussain, Bilal Khan died on the spot and his father, Bakht Zamin, died of an injury on his way to the hospital after their rival fired on them due to a land dispute.
Imran Ali, Zamin’s brother, has registered the FIR at the Yar Hussain police station against Fazal Ghaffar and Abdul Zahir.
In the village of Pontya, a man shot dead his uncle when he was at odds with him about cutting grass for animals.
When contacted, SHO police officer Topi Niaz Ali Khan said that Tanveer Khan had warned his uncle not to cut grass from a plot of land. The son of the deceased had registered FIR with Tanveer at the Topi police station.
In Chota Lahor, Aman Sher was killed when Fida Mohammad and Akhtar Jehan allegedly shot at him.
Meanwhile, an Afghan orphan girl was killed and seven others injured in a road accident on the Islamabad-Peshawar Toll Road near the Rashakai Intersection on Saturday.
An Afghan driver, Pazir Gul, took seven Afghan orphan girls for receiving financial assistance and when they reached near the Rashakai crossing he failed to control the vehicle and crashed into the sidewalk.
As a result, Maryam Gul, 7, was killed on the spot, while the girls and other drivers were injured. They were taken to Bacha Khan Hospital Complex, Shahmansoor.
