KARACHI (Dunya News) – Gas stations in various areas in Karachi have been closed due to scarcity of gasoline.

In a statement issued by Pakistan Oil Retailers Association member Sameer Najmul Hussain, it was said that gas stations in various places in Karachi had been closed due to depletion of gasoline supplies.

Members said that the supply of fuel from oil marketing companies had been affected and the government must immediately pay attention to this crisis.

In response, a statement issued by a spokesman for Pakistan State Oil (PSO) said that a sustainable supply of all petroleum products was being ascertained and 6.5 million liters of petroleum products had been provided at retail outlets over the past three days.

He said that over the past few days, 80% more than the average daily sales were observed. He assured that the PSO still had a satisfactory stock of petroleum products and there was no possibility of fuel shortages.

The spokesman said that fuel supply was ensured at all gas stations and PSO was procured according to petroleum quota products from local refineries.

He further said that according to the Sindh government directives, the gas station was closed at 5 pm while fuel was supplied uninterrupted from 8 am to 5 pm.
