Peshawar – KP Chair Advisor Ajmal Khan Wazir said that on the instructions of Chief Minister Mahmood Khan, Eid al-Fitr was simply celebrated because of the corona epidemic. He, however, warned that if the epidemic escalated further in the coming days, the government would be forced to tighten the lockdown in the province.
He expressed this view during a speech at a press conference at the Cell Itla Peshawar Civil Secretariat yesterday.
He said that they were very sad about the Karachi plane crash and expressed their heartfelt condolences to the families of the deceased.
He said that fighting on the front lines against the corona epidemic, Chief Secretary Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Dr. Kazim Niaz tested positive for corona virus.
He said that they must defeat the corona epidemic in any case but at this time, the steps taken by the government against the corona epidemic must be followed.
He explained that even during the Eid al-Fitr they remained involved in the war against the corona for the people.
He said that the provincial government oversees poverty and the economy and defeats the corona epidemic.
While pointing at political opponents, he said that people cannot be served when sitting in the living room. He said that until now no single political opponent could come out against the corona epidemic.
He said that under these circumstances, they had leaders like Imran Khan and that under his leadership they were capable of defeating the corona epidemic.
Praising the courage of KP’s Principal Secretary, he said that he had worked alongside Chief Minister Mehmood Khan to fight the corona epidemic from the start without caring for his life.
He said that the corona test from the chief secretary had become positive and he had quarantined himself at his home and expressed his determination to fulfill his responsibilities from his home.
He called on the media to fulfill their responsibilities and inform people about the spread of this deadly epidemic. He said that all tourist attractions in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa had been closed to tourists
He said that all provincial departments provided their services against the virus 24/7 in government resources.
Previously, Ajmal Khan Wazir visited Hayatabad Medical Complex (HMC).
During a meeting with the Director (Medical) of the Hayatabad Medical Complex, Dr. Shehzad Akbar explained to him about the current situation regarding the Corona pandemic.
CM’s advisors also meet doctors, nurses, paramedics and others who are fighting in the front lines against the Corona virus.
He appreciated the role of doctors, nurses and paramedics in the battle against coronavirus, adding that the purpose of the visit was to encourage the efforts of HMC medical staff.
The adviser inspected various wards and said he visited the facility on the special direction of Chief Minister Mahmood Khan to express solidarity with all who fought against the corona virus, especially Professor Dr. Javed, who had embraced martyrdom while fighting with Covid-19.
He said although resources were limited, the KP health system did exemplary work, adding that the HMC was the first facility where doctors donated plasma. He told us that in addition to people from the medical profession, journalists also donated plasma to patients.
The advisor advised all those who had recovered to donate their plasma for the recovery of other patients so that the number of patients suffering from the disease in the hospital could be reduced, adding that arrangements had been made at the HMC.
He told us that patients from all KP and Afghanistan were being treated at the Peshawar hospital. He said doctors, paramedics and other medical staff put their lives at risk while treating patients who tested positive for Covid-19, adding that all countries and especially KP citizens must follow the guidelines issued by the government.
The advisor stated that the number of people with Covid-19 could increase if they did not follow the SOP, and added, the influx of patients would create problems for health workers.
