LAHORE / RAWALPINDI: Pakistan-Nawaz Muslim League (PML-N) on Wednesday demanded that the sugar inquiry commission summon Prime Minister Imran Khan and call for the resignation of Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar for their role in providing billions of rupees worth of subsidies to factories despite the lack of sweeteners in this country.
Speaking at a press conference in Satellite Town, PML-N spokeswoman Marriyum Aurangzeb said [inquiry] The commission has found Imran Khan guilty of sugar fraud and it must call on Imran Khan and Usman Buzdar to bake them in the background of the wheat and sugar crisis.
He said PM Khan and CM Buzdar were the main culprits in this case. “It was Imran Khan who agreed to the ECC’s decision. Imran Khan was not summoned by the sugar commission, if Nawaz Sharif could be called in the Joint Investigation Team as prime minister then why did Imran Khan not appear before the commission? “he asked.
The former information minister said the sugar fraud was not an ordinary case because a federal cabinet led by Imran Khan allowed sugar exports despite the country’s shortage of commodities and ‘innocent’ Usman Buzdar provided subsidies to the prime minister’s direction.
Marriyum Aurangzeb is piling up criticism of the PTI dispensation for bad governance; Fayyazul Hassan Chohan has denied the allegations
In a veiled reference to Shahzad Akbar, Prime Minister Imran Khan’s adviser, PML-N spokesman said: “Namaloom’s advisers are conducting a circus at the Press Information Department (PID) every day just to slander PTI’s political opponents and the government’s sole aim is to place opponent in prison. Shahzad Akbar will also read Abdul Razak Dawood and Asad Umar’s answer in the report. Imran Khan and Usman Bazdar could not be saved after the theft of sugar. “
Ms. Auranzeb asked for an explanation why the sugar export was permitted and the commission did not call on Khusro Bakhtiar and his brother? “His sister is also a minister in Punjab,” he added.
He said the name Shahbaz Sharif was linked to the Salman Shahbaz sugar factory, but no exports were made from the factory and had been monitored by the FBR and FIA for the past two years. “The Chaudhry Nawaz Sharif Sugar Factory has also been closed for the past two years,” he said.
“We don’t want to do politics on plane crashes but ‘Prime Minister’ Imran Khan has been missing for the past few days. However, he was found in Nathia Gali during the days of Eid. “The nation is suffering from sadness due to plane accidents and train accidents as well as facing a pandemic but he is busy on a leisure trip,” he said.
He alleged that Asad Umar and Razzaq Daud also failed to meet the investigation commission. “The government must present ‘real actors’ before the commission instead of saving their skin from the heat,” he added, adding that the commission had stated Asad Umar’s answer was not satisfied.
He said Nawaz Sharif made Pakistan a nuclear power but he fell victim without reason. He said the PML-N leaders were not corrupt and they always worked to improve the lives of the Pakistanis.
“PTI has failed to launch new development projects in this country and that is why its leadership made baseless accusations against PML-N leaders,” he said.
In Lahore, Punjab PML-N information secretary Azma Bokhari and former provincial minister Rana Mashhood in a presser demanded the resignation of CM Usman Buzdar because of his alleged role in the sugar fraud case.
“After agreeing to subsidize billions of rupees to sugar factories and stating his ignorance that he did not know what happened at the meeting where he agreed to subsidize, he must immediately resign and face trial,” Azma told a press conference in Model Town here at Wednesday.
“Imran Khan must be part of a sugar fraud investigation so that the truth arises,” he demanded and added that Khan had quarantined himself at Nathia Gali. The sugar panel report is incomplete without a prime minister’s investigation, he added.
He said Sharif’s family did not receive sugar subsidies from the PTI government.
Meanwhile, Punjab Information Minister Fayyazul Hassan Chohan called the remarks by PML-N spokeswoman Marriyum Aurangzeb, against Imran Khan, a hollow criticism.
