SC has formed 6 benches to hear cases since April 13
ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court (SC) has formed six seats in its Islamabad Chairperson and each at the Branch Offices in Lahore and Karachi, which will try cases next week beginning April 13.
Earlier on March 21, the court, while taking preventative measures to minimize the spread of the corona virus, had announced that only important cases would be heard in Islamabad’s Main Chair with three seats.
It was also announced that only cases of urgent nature would be heard at the Karachi and Lahore Branch Registration Offices after deleting all other cases.
According to the court list issued on Thursday, the court has formed six benches in the Main Chair of Islamabad with one each in the Registry Registry in Lahore and Karachi for the following week, starting from 13 April 2020.
As per the court list, Bench No 1 consists of Chief Justice Gulzar Ahmed and Judge Ijazul Ahsan while Bench No 2 consists of Judge Mushir Alam and Judge Yahya Afridi, Bench No. 3 consists of Chief Justice Umar Ata Bandial and Judge Qazi Muhammad Amin Ahmed while Bench No. 4 consists of Justice Qazi Faez Isa and Justice Sardar Tariq Masood.
Likewise, Bangku No. 5 consists of Justice Mazhar Alam Khan Miankhel and Justice Amin-ud-Din Khan while Bench No. 6 consists of Justice Sajjad Ali Shah and Justice Sayyed Mazahir Ali Akbar Naqvi.
Likewise, at the Lahore Registry, Judge Manzoor Ahmed Malik and Judge Syed Mansoor Ali Shah will try cases while in the Karachi Registry a three-person bench led by Judge Maqbool Baqir and consisting of Judge Faisal Arab and Judge Munib Akhtar will try cases cases from 13 April to 17 April respectively.
