His announcement came weeks after Governor Sindh Imran Ismail and Chairman of the National Assembly Asad Qaiser tested positive for the virus.
Both officials have since recovered.
Education Minister Sindh Saeed Ghani, who himself went into isolation after being infected with the virus in March and then recovering, tweeted the message “get well soon” to Afridi.
So far 68,554 people throughout Pakistan have been infected with a virus that has killed 1,447 people in the country.
