16 special flights to carry more than 3,000 Pakistanis stranded from S. Saudi – Pakistan | Instant News

RAWALPINDI: The government has decided to repatriate more than 3,000 Pakistanis stranded in Saudi Arabia with 16 special flights to be operated by Pakistan International Airlines and Saudi Arabian Airlines from 1 to 10 June.

The government has also decided to increase domestic flight operations from 20-22 percent of what was before the coronavirus outbreak to 40-45pc.

The Aviation Division said the decision had been taken in view of the increasing public demand for air travel and smart locking observed by federal and provincial governments. It said the decision was the result of public trust because the best health precautions were implemented both at the airport and by the airlines.

Enhanced flight operations will begin on June 1 from Islamabad, Lahore, Karachi, Peshawar and Quetta.
