A 7.2 magnitude earthquake has struck close to Papua New Guinea, america Geological Survey has stated.
The quake struck 33km north west of the city of Bulolo within the early hours of Tuesday morning.
The epicentre of the sturdy quake was 127 km (79 miles) under the floor, the USGS stated, in a area on the jap fringe of the mountainous nation.
