Parliamentary panel mulls filling ECP vacancies from Sindh, Balochistan

ISLAMABAD: A parliamentary committee, includes of the members of the opposition and authorities mentioned appointment of the the election fee members from Sindh and Balochistan, ARY Information reported on Wednesday.

The opposition really helpful names of senior lawyer Khalid Javed, Justice (retd) Abdul Rasul Memon and Justice (retd) Noorul Haq Qureshi for the ECP member from Sindh.

The opposition chief really helpful Salahuddin Mengal, Shah Muhammad Jatoi and Abdul Rauf Atta for the election fee member from Balochistan.

In the meantime, the federal government has proposed its three names for the election fee member from Balochistan together with Muneer Kakar, Amanullah Baloch and Mir Naveed Baloch.

Whereas the names urged for the ECP member from Sindh are Khalid Mehmood Siddiqui, Justice (retd) Farrukh Zia Shaikh and Iqbal Mehmood.

The parliamentary panel will shortlist these names in its subsequent assembly.

Chief of the Opposition within the Nationwide Meeting Shehbaz Sharif had despatched revised names to Prime Minister Imran Khan for appointing the members of the election fee on Tuesday.

The ECP includes a Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) and 4 members — one from every province, beneath the Structure.
