BERLIN (AP) — A human rights group says it has requested Norwegian prosecutors to open a prison investigation towards senior Syrian officers over allegations of torture and crimes towards humanity.
The Berlin-based European Heart for Constitutional and Human Rights stated Tuesday it filed the grievance along with 4 different teams on behalf of 5 torture survivors.
The plaintiffs need Norwegian prosecutors to analyze and subject arrest warrants towards 17 senior members of Syria’s safety equipment allegedly linked to 14 detention services within the nation.
It’s unclear whether or not the suspects are outdoors of Syria. The 5 victims reside in Norway.
Related preliminary proceedings are ongoing in France, Sweden and Austria. In Germany, the primary such case is anticipated to go to trial subsequent 12 months.
