BAGHDAD (AP) — Iraqi safety officers say 17 Katyusha rockets have hit an Iraqi air base south of the town of Mosul that homes American troops.
The 2 officers say there are not any rapid experiences of casualties from the assault, which occurred on Friday night.
The officers say the barrage of rockets seem to have originated in Mosul and struck the Iraqi military base in Qayyara. That is about 60 kilometers, or 38 miles, south of Mosul, the place a U.S.-led coalition helps Iraqi forces battle remnants of the Islamic State group.
The officers spoke on situation of anonymity beneath rules.
